Cuddle

Clayton, Andy, & Jessie came over for dinner last night. Blake loves Clayton - and of course Clayton loves Blaker! He fell asleep on my lap last night, and Clayton had to cuddle with him. :) I can't wait for Clayton to be a daddy - he's so good!

Lake of the Ozarks

We spent four days in the Ozarks about a week ago. It was SO nice to get away and have nothing to do! I think this is one of the busiest summers we have had in a few years! We went with another couple, and his parents have a condo and boat down there. There were so kind in letting us stay at their place as well as use their boat!

Blake is actually flirting with a little girl here - it was quite comical. He had a couple of waitresses standing off to the side to watch him in action.

This is Ryan - He was such a trooper with all these wonderful stages Blake is going through...."mine" is a famous word of his. I've decided to tell him that it is a bad word b/c it is driving me nuts! He's also going through this rough-housing stage. And I'm afraid that we might not get out of this one all that fast.....he's a Chase...a boy...and two years old. He didn't quite understand that Ryan is only 11 months old and you can't jump on top of him!

For our anniversary, I rented a Harley for 24 hours while we were there. Zack was so surprised - and I was so happy that he was surprised! Jeff and Jaime's anniversary was right before we went....so it worked perfectly.

Blake FINALLY got to sit on the motorcycle! He stopped crying until we had to leave. I'm just not so fun these days...unless it's bedtime.

He played with these helmets for the 24 hours that we had them! It was cute to watch him be creative in what he was doing with them or why he was wearing them!

Nana & Papa Visit

Nana and Papa came for a visit a few weeks ago. We enjoyed their company....and Blake thoroughly enjoyed Papa's popcorn!

Big Boy Potty

Blake went potty a couple of days ago like a big boy. He asked to sit on it...so of course we did just that. Daddy had to "come wif us." He sat down and immediately asked for toilet paper. I told him he had to go potty in the big boy potty before he could have some. So after a few grunts to get something out, he started singing Twinkle Twinkle. And then he did his famous mouth-wide-open expression. HE WAS GOING POTTY! Neither Zack or I said a thing while he was going. As soon as he finished, he threw his arms in the air and said, "I did it!" And then said, "Paper now?!" Of course I rewarded him with toilet paper. How awesome is that...toilet paper as a reward! I love it!

We pulled out the a few things for Bella to borrow, and Blake just didn't understand the fact that they were not for him! I was on the computer a few days ago, and he just kept saying, "I did it, Amy. I did it, Amy" So I finally checked it out - and here is what he was so proud of. Notice that both legs are in the same leg hole!

Twinkle Twinkle

Blake has been counting and singing his ABC's for a while now. But recently he's been asking to sing "tweenle tweenle" at bedtime. Here he is singing it for Zack and I.

Also, we've had his spare car seat in the house and he loves to sit in it in front of the TV, all buckled up too! :)

Weekend Fun

This was a fun afternoon at the Gudgel's house over the weekend. Blake has been scared of the big pool - so I was anxious to see how he did here. He actually loved it and even went off the diving board twice!

Cody and Zack had a little wrestling match in the pool. Blake didn't like it too well! Boys never grow up, do they?!

All the older boys had fun with this super soaker. Actually, I missed getting a photo of Cody SOAKING Brian in his nice jeans and polo for all the torture over the years. We all thought it was funny - and Brian took it well! :)

Gregory is going to be my future babysitter! He has always adored kids - and Blake loves him. Gregory is a super sweet kid! I can't wait until he gets a little older! :)

I tried so hard to get Blake to look at me - but he was way too busy! He had a blast!

This is John, Claire's oldest. I absolutely loved these goggles. He doesn't swim without them either! It was too cute to pass up on a photo!

Watching all the action - soaking it all in I'm sure!

Corey & Gregory - Gregory even gave Corey a kiss after this photo and Corey didn't mind! :) I was shocked - but that is so awesome too!

We ate at Mt. Hamill last night! It was delicious! Blake ate pretty good to be able to drive this 'car'. Uncle Tim (also confused as "ju ju daddy") spoiled Blake by letting him drive before he ate his dinner. But that's what Uncles are for! :)

By the way - Ju Ju Daddy is what Blake calls Granddaddy!

Watching TV

Zack and Blake are watching their hunting show! I have a feeling I better start liking all this hunting crap because my son is liking it now too! :( Again, Blake in his carseat!

My cousin, Nate, turned 30 in May. They had a 90's Prom theme party for him. It was a lot of fun. Blake actually DANCED with Natti. It was super cute.

Here is a picture of him playing outside. Even though it is black and white....you can still see his dirty face! He played outside all day long b/c we had an open house at work and grilled out. He had a blast!

Blake and Zack were playing football, I think. If not - it was some sort of ball b/c that's all we do around here!

Ava was back for a weekend in May. We went to Farm & Home - on the way they watched Elmo. They started holding hands - and I had to turn around to go back home and get the camera. So this picture is actually staged b/c I asked them to do it again. But it was too cute!


We went to Nana & Papa's back in May also. Blake and Katie were best buds!

We participated in the annual Bowl for Kids Sake for Big Brothers Big Sisters. We've only missed one years since they started this event in Keokuk. Blake was seriously scared to death when we walked in...the music, the people, etc. This lady brought this thing over and let Blake use it. He had so much fun and still talks about "Bowing".

Blake has been such a big help lately with everything...picking up, trying to put his clothes/shoes on, feeding the dog with Zack, cleaning the yard...






Um, in APRIL (haha) we went to Kaci's softball games in Williamsburg, IA. She is on a traveling team. She's quite the pitcher too....

Blake found a friend while we were at the tournament! And he also found this ball. I let him play with it b/c no one was around it. No one ever asked for it while he had it. But we left it there....although he didn't want too!! :)



On June 1, Zack played in a 5-on-5 flag football tournament. It was really hot but we all had so much fun. I have to admit that I gave Zack a pretty hard time before he played about how bad they'd probably do b/c they're all getting old, etc. Probably sounds mean and unsupportive. But I was just teasing him. They boys TOTALLY impressed me...as well as the other wives. They ended up going 1-3. It was all for a good cause.

It is called the Hubey Bowl. It is in memory of a boy from Camp Point, IL that died in a car accident in '05. He was a star athlete...was a senior. He was on his way to a friends house and hit black ice. They've had this Hubey Bowl for three years. The first year they raised money to put in restrooms at the football stadium so they didn't have to rent porta potties anymore. The second year they raised money to build a weight room for the school so the students didn't have to drive to Quincy to workout. During construction of the weight room, all of the equipment ended up being donated. So they used the rest of the money to start a scholarship program. I don't know what the intentions of this years' money will be towards. But I do know they raised $23k. Isn't that amazing!!! It was an awesome event!








Okay - so I may be a bad mom b/c I didn't take Blake swimming last year at all. So last week he went swimming for the first time. He thought the baby pool was okay - but wanted to take his shorts off as soon as they got wet. He did not like the big pool at all! He preferred to play with his floatie in the baby pool. ;)


Blake has been such a crazy sleeper lately. It's so fun to walk in his room while his sleeping b/c you never know how he's going to be laying. ;)
