Last weekend we spent Sunday afternoon at Grandpa & Grandma Ames'. Blake LOVED the outdoors. Zack took him on a tractor ride and 4-wheeler ride, hung out in Grandpa's shop....all those boy things! We can't wait for the weather to stay warm!

Six Months Old

Blake turned six months old a couple of days ago. We had his pictures taken last week. Most of you probably received one of these, but I decided to go ahead and add the rest to share with everyone. We took a total of eight pictures - I am just hoping that he'll stay this cooperative! :) I'm sure it will all change very soon!

We've recently discovered mom's hair. For the most part he's nice...but man does he have a grip when he gets ahold of it!

Wee! Blake loves to be upside down! He laughs extremely hard and immediately crosses his arms and covers his eyes. We just happened to capture the picture first!

Aw mommy! He's finally sharing his kisses with Dad too! They don't feel too well anymore though - we're working on two bottom teeth! We can't wait until they come all the way in!

This is Aunt Ashley's puppy named Harry. He loves Blake. Harry jumps around and licks Blake, and Blake gets his arms going just as fast!

Whenever we go outside, Blake gets very excited! Zack started opening the curtains to let him look outside. So now it is a daily thing. Whenever we sit down on the couch, he assumes that's what we're going to do!

He especially loves to look outside after school because there are so many cars to follow and kids to watch! Whenever one goes by, he gets serious. And then when they're out of sight, he gets excited and just talks away!

Mmmmmm

Blake has always loved pop cans. As Zack would take drinks and set the can back on the table, Blake would fuss until he picked it up again.

So....Zack decided to let him suck on the side of it! He really thought he was something, let me tell ya!

Pictures From This Month...

We're starting to sit better in the boppy! Blake can now sit up for about, oh, one minute now. :) No, he really does a good job sitting up. He just tries to go down to the toys instead of sitting up! He'll figure it out eventually...

And back we go! I love it - so funny. His eyes look like they're ready to pop out of his head! haha

Blake is helping Grandpa open his birthday presents. He sure had his eye on the iPod. Sorry, Blake - you're a little too young!

Well, we've been rolling over for quite some time now, but we just started actually lifting our head instead of burying it in the floor! That one arm is just a pain to get out, but we're slowly figuring that out too!

Blake usually tries to wiggle from underneath this jungle thing. He just talks away while playing in there!

But as you can see - we usually end up like this and then mad and frustrated! :)

Granny stopped for a visit - Blake was SO tired. I believe this is at 6:05 p.m. and he literally just crashed sitting straight up!

All Kinds of New Things!

We had our four month check-up yesterday afternoon. Blake weighed 16.5 pounds and was 26.5 inches long. Mom and Dad are thrilled that we get to start food. Maybe we'll eat a little less often...every 2 hours is just a pain sometimes!

Blake wasn't too crazy about the first bite of cereal. He did great about the third or fourth one. It was also his first time in his high chair, so he was pretty occupied anyway!

As you can see, we had a HUGE mess! It took um...SEVERAL bites before he came close to figuring the spoon out. He pretty much just sucked it off towards the end. But that's okay because he actually ate some that way! haha

Blake was very happy afterwards. We also changed his formula (thanks to Aunt Erin noticing a few things)....so maybe that will help his little belly!

Yesterday we decided to put Blake in the real bathtub since we end up with a HUGE puddle after bath time in his old tub. He absolutely enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to watch! I'm guessing his little heels may be a little sore after it!

Okay, okay, we have been busy! Sorry it has taken so long for us to post new photos. It's been a little hectic around here with Christmas' every weekend. One more to go though. We had a wonderful Christmas this year, and we hope everyone else did as well. Take care!

Grandpa stopped over one afternoon, too. Blake enjoyed playing! And he took a long nap after Grandpa left!







Uncle Brandt has finally decided that changing a diaper can't be THAT bad! It was absolutely hilarious having to explain...starting off with first you have to take the pants off, then unbutton his shirt and pull it back....too funny! I couldn't help but laugh a few times. He did a nice job!!!

Hanging out with Uncle Brandt and Aunt Kaci. They came over for a few hours the other day. Blake really enjoys their company, as you can see!

Christmas

Zack bought "Blake" some movie's for Christmas just from him. The two movies are Barnyard and Cars. I think Zack enjoyed them himself! LoL As we've said before, Blake will sit and watch tv for very long periods of time. Well, we were watching Barnyard and I first laid him down to change his diaper, and he cried until I sat him back up so he could see the tv. Then we shut it off to leave to go out to breakfast, and he cried again! It was kind of funny!

Blake enjoyed the paper. I would start tearing it off and he would get ahold of it and try to put it in his mouth! Imagine that; right?!

This is one of Blake's toys he received. He does pretty good in it. He wasn't so crazy at first, but he seems to be enjoying it for longer periods of time now. As you can see - he gets his arms stuck between toys and then gets so mad that taking him out is the only option so he'll quit crying. He's going to have a temper, I'm afraid!

Buds!?

Blake and Sterling have matching pj's - so we thought we'd get a picture! Sterling wanted to roll over Blake, but he held still for a few pictures. Think he looks ornery in this one though?! :)

While visiting Grandpa and Grandma Huiskamp, Sterling couldn't play with much - so Blake's shoes looked like fun...I guess! :) Blake started kicking his feet, and Sterling didn't like that too much! They're going to be so much fun when they're both older!
